The rules of VIP can be summed up in it’s motto:

“Live with compassion, Deal in truth, Die for justice.”

This motto should be your guide in all that you do. How you are judged within the guild will be based on your ability to follow this motto.

The
VIP Rules are based on the motto as follows:

VIP Guild Rules

 Live in Compassion:

 1.       Be kind, courteous, respectful and helpful towards other people.
This is the most important of all rules. Following this rule will keep you in good standing and is necessary if you wish to advance through the ranks of
VIP.

 2.       Be an honorable and noble example of VIP at all times, and in all places.
Exemplify the virtues of Honor, Valor, Honesty, Compassion, Justice, Sacrifice, Spirituality, and Humility. In joining VIP, members are held to a higher standard. This is necessary since we do not only represent ourselves but every other member of the guild as well.

These first two rules are represented best by the Guilds code:

"As a member I will treat all people as equals, dealing honestly and courteously with those whose path I cross. I will help others when possible and act justly in all I do. I realize that the ideal of this guild is to follow a virtuous path and I will conduct myself always with honor and valor. I will uphold the code, knowing that I represent not only myself but those with whom I serve."

 3.       Do not speak ill of the guild or its members.
Any problems, disputes, or disagreements between guild members should be resolved calmly, responsibly, and maturely. Do not allow anger to get the best of you and escalate the problem. If a disagreement cannot be resolved between the concerned parties, it may be brought before a Master of Faction Knight, Lawgiver and/or Guildmaster. Use chain of command when possible.

4.       Do not use foul language.

Vulgar, debasing, or profane language is inappropriate. This includes crude language, off color jokes and swearing. This habit reflects negatively on the image of VIP, is inconsiderate of the varying age groups that are online, ignores the attitudes and preferences of others and shall be avoided at all times. Any member found continually displaying a disregard for this will be brought before the guild council. Anyone ignoring their decision will be removed from the guild.

Deal in Truth:

 5.       Do not steal from or loot other players.

This includes the bodies of fellow guild members or innocents. Do not loot unless it is done in an effort to return belongings of those who have died and are decaying. If the VIP council receives sufficient evidence to believe a member has acquired the reputation of a looter, guild status will be revoked.

 6.       Do not perform negative acts against another guild member without permission from the guild member.

Even if guild-mates spar on a regular basis, using either magic or weapons, never assume attack on a guild mate is permissible without advance consent. Any action of this kind is disrespectful and may lead to the dismissal from the guild.

 7.       Strive to be self-sufficient and not expectant upon the guild to support you.

Members of the guild may be generous in both time and resources. Coming to the guild to take advantage of this is unacceptable. The items are available should you require them but do not drain the resources without contributing.

 8.       Actively participate in guild meetings and events.
It is important for members to contribute to the life of VIP. Member presence is an encouragement to those in positions of leadership, helps to bind the members together, shows unity and creates order.

 9.       Guild vendors and services.
No vendors are to be placed within the guild house without consent from the High Council. Guild members are encouraged to offer services and goods at a reduced rate with one another, as this fosters the spirit of generosity.

Die for Justice:

 10.    Do not kill other players without just cause.
Player killing by members of VIP will not to be tolerated and will result in immediate dismissal from the guild. Anyone who actively engages in this activity will not be admitted into the guild.
It is recognized however that certain crimes should not go unpunished, in such cases the council does not wish to be seen as "judge, jury and executioner". As such, members to hunt murderers will not be condemned. This is also NOT a rewarded act.

IMPORTANT: If doing so please keep evidence that the person you are hunting is indeed a murderer. (EG: Screenshot of bounty board, screenshot of them Killing someone else and asking for your help, etc...) Failure to do so will brand you an outcast in the guilds eyes if a complaint is brought against you. You will be considered as grief killing and dismissed immediately.

 11.    Support VIP members in battle.
Follow the VIP Rules of Engagement (Coming soon) and when in battle, whether against monsters or other players, stand by your guild mates.
While grief killing is unacceptable, it is also unacceptable to stand by and watch a guild-mate be killed or looted. This means there are times you may be called upon to attack others in defense.

Note: Should a fellow guild member fall, try to retrieve and save their belongings, and return those belongings at the earliest possible time. Failure to return the items is considered stealing and will be treated accordingly.
